I recently wrote about The UX Test Kitchen‘s latest client launch, The Orphaned Starfish Foundation (OSF), and about their Fifth Annual Dinner and Auction Gala that was held Thursday, October 22, 2009.
Just a quick update to let you know that the Gala was a screaming success, thanks in no small part to OSF’s corporate sponsors, Continental Airlines and DirecTVmas, but mostly to the phenomenal generousity of the 280 attendees! By the end of the evening, an estimated $255,000 had been donated for the orphans of Latin America!! In addition, separate donations were made for higher-level educational scholarships. Having provided a total of three scholarships in past years, OSF estimates that after this year’s Gala, they will providing three more scholarships for the orphans!! New York, you are an amazing town!!
Anyway, as I said, just a brief update, and if you were unable to make it to the Gala, but would still like to contribute to the wonderful work of The Orphaned Starfish Foundation, you can make a donation at any time via The Orphaned Starfish Foundation’s website.
